Key Notes from the reading & sermon:

Now after he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. She went out and told those who had been with him, while they were mourning and weeping. But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it.

After this he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.

he was alive and had been seen & he appeared in another form

For me, the central question of the resurrection of Jesus is:  What does it mean?  As a disciple of Jesus I have come to know the Risen One in the community of faith formed by Christ’s living Spirit producing the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  For me, the resurrection of Jesus means meaningful, purposeful and everlasting life in the beloved community of Christ.

Questions for Reflection:

What does the resurrection of Jesus mean to you?

How have you experienced the Risen One?

In a sentence, how would you express new life in Christ?
